The NFL Trade Deadline Is Tuesday, and the Loudest Names May Not Move

The NFL trade deadline hits Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, and the biggest name on the board is not expected to move.

Adam Schefter reported the Ravens are not expected to deal Derrick Henry before the buzzer. Baltimore also recently told Henry it has no intention of trading him, according to Schefter’s sources.

Baltimore sits at 4-5 after a 33-10 loss to Jacksonville, which is usually the record of a team listening to offers.

My read: this deadline is more tease than action. Every year there’s a week of “sources say” posts, a mountain of quote tweets, and then Tuesday at 4:01 everybody acts like they saw the quiet coming. That’s opinion, not a forecast I’d bet the mortgage on.

But the Colts are the real sellers. Multiple teams have called about Daniel Jones, and Indianapolis has held trade talks, per Ian Rapoport and Schefter.

Schefter had already floated the Ravens and Vikings as possible Jones landing spots in a recent podcast.

Jonathan Taylor is the other Indy name. Tom Pelissero’s line, via Underdog NFL, is that the most likely outcome has Taylor staying a Colt, with no team close to the premium capital it would take.

So the star running backs probably stay home, and the quarterback is where the real chaos lives.

Tuesday, 4 p.m. Clear your afternoon or don’t.
