The English Premier League is in full swing and the two Manchester based clubs are leading the pack. Pep’s Manchester City look like title winners already, whereas Jose’s United are the only team capable of challenging them. If you are a fan of Online Betting, you should act quickly and back this duo to finish first and second respectively because the odds for this market are getting slashed as you are reading this article.
However, not everyone in Manchester is enjoying this football renaissance and there are 3 players which are frozen out on Manchester benches and haven’t kicked a ball in anger this season. These players should definitely look for new pastures when 2018 starts as Manchester is no longer a place where they are likely to get some competitive matches.
Luke Shaw
The once promising left back is still only 21, but has spent the majority of his Manchester United career either in the stands or on the treatment room. It also doesn’t help that Jose Mourinho seems to hold some sort of grudge against him and hasn’t played him at all this season.
But it wasn’t always like this. Jose Mourinho was one of the admirers of young Luke while he was still at Southampton and as a result he tried to lure him to Chelsea in 2015. However, as the Portuguese later revealed, Shaw was asking for a lot of money in weekly wages and Chelsea’s hierarchy were worried that signing him would cause chaos on their wage bill so they canceled their chase and the wing back ended at Old Trafford.
Unluckily for Shaw, Manchester also became the residence of Mourinho a year later and he was left on the sidelines ever since. Manchester United fans will try to justify his exclusion of match squads as a direct result of his numerous injuries, but even the slightest doubt that Jose has some personal vendetta against the young English player should be reason enough for Shaw to move clubs in January, considering how stubborn the Portuguese is when he gets into a fight with someone.
Yaya Toure
Yaya was once the most important player to wear blue in Manchester. However, those days are now long gone and the 34 year old Ivory Coast international has only made 2 appearances this season.
He seems to have come to terms with this and has recently expressed his desire to move to a new country, something that was never an option in the past. With all the options that the Citizens have in the middle, his departure will almost certainly go unnoticed.
Eliaquim Mangala
When Mangala joined City from Porto a few years ago, he was supposed to be the answer to all of Manchester City’s defensive prayers. However, one nightmare debut season and a poor loan season in Spain later and the Frenchman is nowhere to be seen.
This season he made only one cup appearance, in which he was bloody awful, and it seems like the January transfer window cannot come soon enough for poor Eliaquim.
